Sen. Lana Theis said on Tuesday that recent comments from Anthony Fauci calling for schools to mandate COVID-19 vaccinations is further evidence of the need to approve her legislation protecting families from forced inoculations.
“This is still the United States of America, and individuals still have the right to decide whether they get a COVID-19 vaccine or not,” said Theis, R-Brighton. “No government should be able to force a child to get a COVID-19 vaccine, nor should getting the vaccine be required for a child to go to school, participate in sports, or anything else. After a year of bureaucrats asserting control over how we live our lives, we must act to protect the decision-making rights of Michigan parents over the health care decisions for their children and families. Anthony Fauci needs to stop the ever-changing “science” and let parents make the best decisions for their kids.”
Senate Bill 457 would prohibit the Department of Health and Human Services from requiring minors to receive a COVID-19 vaccination under emergency public health orders and would also ban local public health departments from issuing the same type of order.
SB 457 remains before the House of Representatives for consideration.
